Our base in Wanaka

Rest, recovery and relaxation are not only key components of any good training plan, they're vital ingredients for your general well-being too. That's why at Wanaka XC we've placed great emphasis on ensuring high levels of rest and relaxation are experienced, especially in the lead up to the race, so that you feel ready for race day. 

For our ski stay we will aim to be back in Wanaka after skiing by 4pm, so there is plenty of time to take a walk around town before dinner.

For our swim stay there will be more time to relax, unless you are up for a few spectacular walks that are calling out for you!

IMMACULATE and COMFORTABLE

The Krook

The Krook is our chosen accommodation because of its location, views, modern and stylish fit out. The Krook has been designed with relaxation in mind, ticking both the privacy boxes along with providing ample space for our group entertainment activities.  Tucked away in a quiet street, this house has stunning views of Lake Wanaka and the stunning snow-capped mountains from upstairs and downstairs lounges and decking

With views of Lake Wanaka it's perfect for post-training relaxation and watching from the balcony as the sun sets over Mount Aspiring National Park.  You can enjoy the 3 minute leisurely stroll across the park to the wonderful cafes and diverse restaurants, in the Wanaka village centre.

Sleep

The 5 bedrooms and 4 bathrooms will comfortably accommodate up to 10 guests in style. There are two king size double rooms, two queen size double rooms and a twin room.

We don't have a single supplement policy - but we can help you if you are interested in arranging a twin share with another of our guests.

Relax

The Wanaka XC ski stay include a sports massage delivered by expert therapist right in your own bedroom at the Krook. This will be provided before or after your race, as requested by yourself.  You can opt to have additional massages by our therapist, just let us know and we can arrange this for you.

Eat, drink, replenish

We use Wanaka's fine and fresh local produce to fuel you with the ultimate nutrition during your week. Breakfast and dinner are laid-back, sociable occasions. Lunch - if at Snow Farm, will be prepared by you from supplies provided after breakfast.

We will provide:

Daily Breakfast, lunch makings and supplies of tea of coffee at Base.

Evening meals for five nights in house, one night at Cardrona Hotel leaving you with one night to explore the many restaurants in town.  A local Aspiring chef will assist with our meals and ensure that everyone's individual needs are catered for.  If you have any special dietary requirements, please advise and we will aim to cater for them.
